The Colombo High Court today rejected the application filed by former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake seeking permission to travel overseas.
He had requested permission to leave the country in order to visit his daughter, who is pursuing higher education in Australia.
The former Health Minister, who was arrested and remanded for allegedly preparing fraudulent documents, was granted bail on December 05, 2016.
He is accused of forging the signatures of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and President Maithripala Sirisena in a letter.
Attanayake, who defected from the then opposition and was made Health Minister for less than three weeks, is accused of fabricating the document to discredit the President and the PM.
Meanwhile the five police officers arrested in connection with the death of two university students in Jaffna, have been further remanded till December 30 by the Jaffna Magistrate’s Court.
