Traffic jam on Lotus Road due to protest

The entry road to Galle Face has been closed for traffic from Lotus Roundabout due to a protest by the postal trade unions, Ada Derana report said.

 


Severe traffic congestion was reported along Lotus Road in Colombo Fort due to the protest, reporter added.

 


The postal strike commenced from midnight Monday and the Minister of Posts and Postal Affairs has also requested the employees for a discussion.

 


The revision of recruitment schemes, vacancies and promotions, resolving salary disparities and providing infrastructure facilities are among the demands of the postal employees.
