An 8-year-old girl died after she was found unresponsive in a swimming pool in Kalpitiya, the police said.
She was pronounced dead upon her admission to the Puttalam hospital this morning (26).
Meanwhile, a 26-year-old youth has gone missing while bathing in the sea off Devaniyagoda area in Ratgama. According to police, a search operation is underway to locate him with assistance from the Navy.
