A 53-year-old cop has been beaten to death with a club following a family dispute in Kuliyapitiya, the police said.
An official told Ada Derana a manhunt is underway to locate the suspect who is said to be a relative of the official.
The deceased is identified as a resident of Illukhena area in Kuliyapitiya. According to police, the remains of the deceased are deposited at the Kuliyapitiya hospital pending a post-mortem.
