The Delimitation Appeals Review Committee on Friday refused media reports that committee’s report is “incomplete” and “insufficient”.
“Delimitation Appeals Review Committee has decided to issue a press release in respect a news item carried in three national newspapers today tarnishing the image of the task performed by the committee.
As the committee we vehemently deny the accusations made against us by the said news papers and the things mentioned in the said news items do not fall under the purview of the committee,” a statement issued by committee member Senior Counsel Upul Kumarapperuma said.
“We kindly inform those who criticize us that it would be appropriate to take actions if anyone seeks reasons for election delay without blaming the committee,” the statement added.
