Wele Suda’s mother and cousin arrested with heroin

The mother and a cousin brother of imprisoned drug baron Samantha Kumara alias ‘Wele Suda’ have been arrested for the possession of heroin.
They were arrested in the Wellawatta area with 20 grams of heroin following a raid carried out by the Department of Excise.
The arrested suspects are to be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court today (6).
Samantha Kumara was sentenced to death by the Colombo High Court in October 2015 for the possession of heroin.
UPDATE: Both arrested suspects have been remanded till January 19 by the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court.
