Receiving the GSP + concession back to the country is a victory, but some ‘dishonest’ politicians are eyeing to criticise it, Power and Renewable Energy Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera says.
He expressed this view while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo on Sunday.
“It is also questionable the view of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa on receiving the GSP + concession back,” he said adding that Rajapaksa also held a ‘dishonest’ opinion in this regard.
Perera also dismissed reports that the government had to agree to 58 conditions to receive the GSP + concession back. He went on to say the government however had to agree to several ‘reasonable’ terms throughout the process.
