A person has been killed in Athurugiriya after an unidentified suspect had opened fire at him, the police said.
The incident occurred a short while ago on Tuesday evening.
According to police, an investigation is underway to identify the suspect. The remains of the deceased will be taken to the Colombo National hospital for an autopsy.
