Navy arrests fishermen engaged in illegal fishing

The Navy has arrested three local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using explosives in the seas off South Bar in Talaimannar.
According to Navy, during the arrest; a dinghy, a monofilament net, four diving masks, three pairs of diving fins, eight non electric detonators, and a GPS unit were also taken into naval custody.
The apprehended persons and belongings were handed over to the Directorate of Fisheries, Mannar for further investigations.
