Road to Galle Face closed due to protest

Entry road to Galle Face from Lotus Roundabout has temporary been closed due to a protest by a group of disabled tri-forces pensioners, the Ada Derana reporter confirmed.

 


According to protesters, the demonstration has been staged against the alleged decision to arrest Ven. Bengamuwe Nalaka Thero, Ven. Ittakande Saddatissa Thero and several other individuals who attended a protest which was held against the army pension procedure two months ago.

 


The protesters have also decided to submit a petition to the President with respect of the issue, it was reported.
