Footage of a Spanish-language journalist being told to ‘get out of my country’ at a Trump campaign press conference has re-emerged.

Many are saying the video, which was filmed in the early days of the President’s campaign in August 2015, was an early indication of the kind of leader Trump would turn out to be.

It shows Jorge Ramos, a well-known and respected broadcaster for Univision, attempting to ask Donald Trump a question about his immigration policies.

Instead of responding, the future POTUS told him to ‘go back to Univision’ before instructing his aides to forcibly remove Ramos.

Univision is a USA-based Spanish-language broadcaster.

Ramos, meanwhile, kept attempting to bring up his point – telling Trump and the watchful cameras that ‘I am a reporter and I have a right to ask a question’.

Once outside the conference room the Trump aide, who apparently hadn’t heard of Ramos and was unaware that he was American, told him to ‘get out of my country’.

When the reporter responded that ‘I am also a US citizen’, the aide dismissed him and said: ‘Univision, whatever.’

At the time, the shocking moment was included in Ramos’s documentary on the rise of nationalism, white supremacy and the alt-right in the US.

The documentary, Hate Rising, was published by Fusion in October 2016 and is available to watch in its entirety on YouTube.

The President has sparked major international protests with his so-called ‘Muslim ban’ – an immigration and travel ban that applies to anyone from seven Muslim-majority countries.

This includes green card holders, who are legal permanent US residents. As a result, hundreds of people who live, work and have families in the US have been stuck abroad.

There is also an indefinite ban on Syrian refugees entering the US, and a temporary ban on all other refugees – meaning that people have been left stranded abroad and at US airports with nowhere to go.
