
The Panadura-Walana Anti-Vice Squad has seized at least 54 vehicles that were illegally assembled at a complex in Minuwangoda, it was reported.
The raid was carried out last afternoon and the illegal business has caused a loss of at least Rs.325 million to the government, according to police.
The assembly plant is located in the industrial zone in Minuwangoda and police had also obtained a search warrant to inspect the premises.
Twenty nine cars, 22 jeeps, two vans and parts of vehicles have been seized during the raid. The Sri Lanka Customs and the Panadura-Walana Anti-Vice Squad are conducting further investigations.
