Man shot and killed by unknown gunmen in Horana

A 47-year-old person was shot dead at Illiba Junction in Horana on Friday morning (3), police said.
The person was traveling in a car when he was murdered by two unidentified gunmen on Panadura-Ratnapura road. The suspects who were on a motorbike had fled the scene soon after opening fire at the victim, it was reported.
The incident occurred at around 7.55 am, according to police. The deceased has been identified as an executive officer of a private financial institute.
The Horana police are conducting further investigations. The remains of the deceased are kept at the Horana Base hospital pending a post-mortem.
