Three police teams to probe shooting at SAITM CEO

Three investigation teams have been deployed to investigate the homicide attempt made against the CEO of the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM), police said on Monday.  

 


Dr. Sameera Senarathna was believed to be on his way home, when the shooting occurred late last night, damaging his car in Malabe.  

 


The Government Analysts Department had visited the scene of the crime, and teams from the Special Crimes Division in Mirihana along with the Mulleriyawa police have begun investigations. 

 


Dr. Senaratne stated that two masked men appeared to have arrived on a motorbike had fled after opening fire at his car.

 

  
The individuals involved in the shooting are yet to be identified and arrested.
