
The Management Committee of the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) will hold a meeting on Wednesday (08) afternoon.
President of the SLMC Prof. Carlo Fonseka will also attend for the discussion, a spokesperson said. Facts relating to the controversy surrounding the Malabe private medical university will be discussed during the meeting.
A discussion is also scheduled to be held by the SLMC on 17 February to take a final diction about the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM).
Meanwhile, GMOA Assistant Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge yesterday said all possible measures are being taken to avoid Sri Lanka from becoming the first country to issue medical degrees for students from an institute which was not recognized by the SLMC.
