
Police Narcotics Bureau officers found a stock of cocaine with a street value of around Rs 30 million in the possession of a Lithuanian national arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake this morning on board a SriLankan Airlines flight.
Two Nigerian men, suspected to be involved in the drug racket, who arrived at the airport to accept the parcel of cocaine was also arrested by PNB sleuths.
Police Spokesman DIG Priyantha Jayakody said that investigations have uncovered that this drug network operates across Brazil, Lithuania, India, Nigeria and Sri Lanka.
The arrested suspects will be produced before courts to be detained and interrogated by the PNB under detention orders.
