
The Department of Meteorology says that the showery condition is expected to enhance from tomorrow (24), particularly in the southern half of the island.
Several spells of showers will occur in the Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Hambantota district, it said.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces during the morning.
The department further added that several spells of showers will occur in the sea area off the coast extending from Batticaloa to Colombo via Hambantota and Galle. Mainly fair weather will prevail in the other sea areas around the island.
Winds will be North-easterly to Easterly in direction in the sea areas extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Kankasanthurai, Trincomalee and Batticaloa. Winds will be variable in direction in the other sea areas.
