Weapons found in court: 20 suspects remanded

Twenty people who were arrested over their alleged links to weapons found inside a court in Mt. Lavinia have been remanded until 13 March, Ada Derana reporter said.
The suspects were remanded after being produced before the Mt. Lavinia Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Court proceedings were also suspended yesterday after a fully loaded pistol and revolver were found inside the court premises.
According to police, 16 of 20 suspects are individuals residing in the Ratmalana area. Police Spokesperson Priyantha Jayakody stated that further investigations are being carried out to identify the motives and individuals behind the placement of the weaponry at the Magistrate’s Court.
