The writ petition filed by controversial primary dealer Perpetual Treasuries Private Ltd, seeking an Interim Order quashing the directions of the Central Bank’s Monetary Board imposing restriction on the company, was taken up at the Court of Appeal on Friday (3).
The writ petition was taken up before a judge bench comprising Appeal Court chairman Vijith Malalgoda and S. Thurai Raja, Ada Derana reporter said.
Attorneys representing the primary dealer informed the court that following the Treasury Bond issue, the Central Bank had issued two guidelines restricting operations of the company and that this was greatly unjust towards Perpetual Treasuries.
