Three arrested over clash with police in Padukka

Three individuals believed to have been involved in a physical altercation with the police in Padukka, hindering their ability to carry out their duty have been arrested, police reveal.
Police said that the attack that had occurred during the afternoon yesterday (6), when a group of individuals had attempted to assault a person making a complaint at the Meepe police post.
The police officer who was taking down the complaint was also assaulted as he had intervened to stop the altercation.
The officer are currently receiving treatment at the Homagama Base Hospital.
Police stated that the suspects will be presented to the Homagama Magistrate’s Court later today (7) and further investigations have been carried out into the situation.
