SAITM protests from Moratuwa to Lipton Circus

A march against the functioning of the South Asian Institute of  Technology and Medicine (SAITM) will be held at midday today (8). 

 

The march is believed to span across areas in and around Colombo, such as Wattala, Moratuwa, Lipton Circus, around  Sri Jayawardanapura university and  Kelaniya.  

 

The protests are believed to be caused against the functioning of SAITM, and the graduates of SAITM being viable for receiving provisional registration by the Sri Lankan Medical Council (SLMC). 

 

Police have urged the public travelling in and around those areas to use alternative routes.
