An investigation has been commenced in connection with the suspicious death of a police Constable in Karuwalagaswewa, police said.
The cop was reportedly found dead at his house’s compound on 10 March, the officials said.
The police are investigating whether the death was a homicide or a suicide since a bottle of insecticide was also found near the body.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Kuda Medawachchiya area in Karuwalagaswewa.
According to reports, the day before his death, the cop and his brother were apprehended by the wildlife officials with 15 kilograms of venison. However, the Constable was later released, but not his brother. The police investigation teams have also drew its attention to this incident, it was reported.
