The Public Service United Nurses Association (PSUNA) says its members will take sick leave as part of a strike action since Monday (13) morning and it will continue until tomorrow.
However, the Government Nursing Officers’ Union President Saman Rathnapriya told Ada Derana that his union would not endorse today’s strike.
Rathnapriya further added that without his union’s support, the PSUNA would not be able to achieve the goal of the strike.
The strike is believed to be caused to highlight and correct issues such as the wage disparity that exists between co-workers, and eight other reasons.
