Heavy traffic in Maradana due to protest

An Inter University Students Federation protest being held in the Maradana area has caused heavy traffic around Punchi Borella and Maradana. 

 

The protest is believed o be a result of representatives of the federation not being invited to the discussions held between the Presidential Committee put forward to discuss SAITM, and the GMOA. 

 

The discussions will be held later today (13).

 

The protest commenced in front of the Visual and performing Arts university and will finish at the Fort Railway Station, members part of the protest stated. 

 

Lotus Road in Colombo Fort has also been temporarily closed due to the protest march, Ada Derana reporter said.
