Four key banks in Sri Lanka are in a vulnerable state due to economic instability, Prof. Tissa Vitarana said.
He expressed this view while speaking to reporters at a press conference held in Colombo on Monday.
“Not only the banking sector, the whole economy of the country is in jeopardy due to the acts of the International Monetary Fund (IMF),” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Raja Kollure, General Secretary of Socialist People’s Front said the government expected to achieve economic growth by implementing the recommendations of the IMF, yet failed.
