Four men, who are said to be former LTTE cadres, arrested on the allegation of plotting to assassinate Tamil legislator M.A. Sumanthiran, have been further remanded until 22 March, Ada Derana reporter said.
They were remanded after being produced before the Kilinochchi Magistrate’s Court on Monday. The Terrorism Investigation Department had arrested four former LTTE cadres in the Tamil-majority Northern Province for plotting to assassinate the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Parliamentarian in January.
Meanwhile, the Court has also granted permission for the police to take assistance from Interpol, the international police service, to apprehend another suspect who is said to be living in Australia.
