Ravi sends letter of demand to Bandula

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake says a letter of demand has been sent to MP Bandula Gunawardena seeking compensation of Rs.2 billion.

 


Earlier, Bandula Gunawardena said legal action would be taken against a state owned newspaper and the Finance Minister for deliberately making false allegations against him.

 


Gunawardena has too sought compensation of Rs.200 million and Rs.300 million from the newspaper and the Finance Minister respectively, over making false allegations with respect to his decision to give evidence in connection with the controversial bond sale.

 


Karunanayake said he would take legal action in response to the letter of demand sent by Gunawardena.
