Father, daughter killed in Vakarai accident

A father and his 19-year-old daughter were killed after a trishaw and a private bus collided head on in Vakarai, police said.
The accident occurred on Batticaloa -Trincomalee road.
The deceased have been identified as residents of Palaiyoothu, Trincomalee. According to police, another woman who sustained injuries following the incident was admitted to the Trincomalee hospital for treatment.
The remains of the deceased are kept at the same hospital pending post-mortem.
The police have arrested the bus driver and he will be produced in the Court today.
