
The Colombo High Court Monday temporarily lifted the travel ban imposed on former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake, Ada Derana reporter said.
The court allowed Attanayake to travel overseas following a request made though a Counsel when the case was taken into consideration before High Court Judge Vikum Kaluarachchi.
Attanayake had sought permission to travel overseas to visit his daughter from 10-28 April, reporter added.
The former Health Minister, who was arrested and remanded for allegedly preparing a fraudulent document, was granted bail on December 05, 2016. He is accused of forging the signatures of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and President Maithripala Sirisena in a letter. Attanayake, who defected from the then opposition and was made Health Minister for less than three weeks, is accused of fabricating the document to discredit the witnesses of the case.
