
A suspect has been arrested for allegedly aiding the gang members involved in Kalutara shooting on 27 February, police said Wednesday.
A team led by the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) apprehended the suspect from Ratmalana area for allegedly providing a hideout for a gang member, an official said.
Suspect Samith Chamara alias ‘Ala Bole’, 24, is identified as a resident of Kamburugamuwa, Matara, according to police. He will be produced before the Kalutara Magistrate today.
The police have identified the involvement of two underworld gangs in the shooting which left seven dead including two prison guards.
