The report with respect to a DNA test carried out on bone fragments of former rugby player Wasim Thajudeen has been received by the Attorney General’s Department, a Deputy Solicitor General informed the Court Wednesday.
The bone fragments were collected from the private medical college in Malabe in October, 2016 and the DNA test was carried out at the Genetech Molecular Diagnostics in Colombo.
This was informed when the case was taken into consideration at the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
Meanwhile, former senior DIG, Anura Senanayake, who was arrested for allegedly withholding evidence pertaining to the case, has been further remanded until 18 April. Thajudeen, a Sri Lankan ruggerite and former Havelock SC captain, was killed in Colombo in May 2012.
