A married couple died after being electrocuted at their home in Chunnakam.
Police suspect that they were electrocuted while carrying out decorations at the residence.
The bodies of the deceased, a 36-year-old woman and 62-year-old male, have been taken to the mortuary of the Jaffna Hospital while the postmortem examination is to be carried out today.
Chunnakam Police is conducting an investigation.
