Two killed, one injured in Kongasdeniya accident

Two persons were killed and one injured after a trishaw collided head on with a lorry in Kongasdeniya on Sunday morning, police said.
The accident occurred on the Kandy - Colombo road at around 11.30 am, police added.
The deceased were identified as residents of Kerawalapitiya and Angoda areas. Their remains are kept at the Wathupitiwala hospital pending autopsy.
The other person has been transferred to the Colombo National hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, three foreign nationals were too injured and hospitalized after their vehicle veered off the road in Gokarella. Their condition is not life-threatening, according to hospital sources.
