Grama Niladhari union warns of action over new transfer procedure

The Independent Grama Niladhari Union (IGNU) has warned of trade union action against a proposed procedure to transfer officials which is to be implemented by the Ministry of Public Administration and Management.

 


The representatives of the IGNU pointed out there is a move to amend the existing procedure which allows an official to be transferred after every three years. According to the IGNU, an official can be transferred after every seven years with the existing system.

 


This was announced during a press conference held in Thambuttegama.
