Foreign employment fraudster arrested

An individual has been arrested in Godagama, Matara for defrauding people by promising them foreign employment.
The arrest had been made after a complaint received by the Criminal Investigation Division in Negombo.
An interrogation of the suspect revealed that there were several more ongoing court cases involving foreign employment fraud at the Negombo Court.
Three mobile phones, a laptop, and a motor vehicle and gold necklace bought with the swindled money which were under the possession of the suspect at the time of the arrest were also taken into police custody.
Police stated that the 38-year-old male arrestee who was a resident of Katunayake was to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate Court.
