A badly burnt, severed head of a woman, had been found in a house in Deniyaya, police reveal.
The head had been found inside a house that had caught fire recently.
Further investigations revealed that the woman was a 60-year-old lady from the Beralapanathara area had been residing in the house at the time of the incident.
Deniyaya police have stated that the head will remain at the scene, until the completion of initial investigations.
Meanwhile, the Police Media Spokesperson’s Office states that yet another woman was found to have been hacked to death in Katugenda, Kotadeniyawa.
The deceased was a 68-year-old female.
The Police Media Spokesperson’s Office added that a group of officers had been deployed to the crime scene for further investigations.
