14 houses damaged due to heavy rain and winds

At least 14 houses in Wedikachchiya of Medirigiriya were damaged in the heavy rain and winds that affected the area.
Police stated that the 14 damaged houses belonged to the areas of Samagipura, Nawanagaraya and Lower Samagipura under the Wedikachchiya Grama Niladhari division.
Steps have been taken to transfer those affected to secure locations.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was admitted to the Medirigirya hospital after a tree in the area fell on him.
Hospital sources state that the patient’s condition is not severe.
