180 accident victims admitted to National Hospital within 24 hours

Around 180 patients were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital due to accidents within the past 24 hours which ended at 12 midnight yesterday, a spokesman for the hospital said.

 

She stated that a majority of these patients had sustained injuries from fireworks related accidents and traffic accidents.

 

However, the spokesman pointed out that the number of patients admitted to the National Hospital during the festive season has reduced compared to the previous year.
