Iranian nabbed with heroin worth Rs 20 million at BIA

An Iranian national has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake for the possession of 2 kilograms of heroin, estimated to be worth around Rs 20 million.
Sri Lanka Customs spokesman said that the suspect had arrived in the country from Dubai last night and that he had stayed hidden inside the airport till this morning (15)
The heroin was found in his possession following a inspection carried out by customs officers, based on a suspicion, Dharmasena Kahandawa said.
He stated that the suspect is being interrogated by airport customs and that he will be handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau.
