
The Vietnamese government has extended their condolences to the victims of the Meethotamulla tragedy.
The Prime minister’s office stated that the President of Vietnam, along with the leader of the communist party in Vietnam, extended their condolences to the Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe during his tour of Vietnam.
The president of Vietnam stated that the country will help provide some form of assistance to prevent such a tragedy from occurring in the future, and said that the government and people of Vietnam are with the people of Sri Lanka, during this volatile period.
It has been reported that the Prime Minister will cut short his tour of Vietnam due to the tragedy that had happened, cancelling the discussions that were due, and will be arriving in the country tomorrow (19).
