
Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) while strengthening the education sector of the country, also ensured to safeguard the rights of the working class, Minister Duminda Dissanayake said.
Minister Dissanayake made the observation while speaking at SLFP’s ‘Eka Mitata Hari Athata’ Peace May Day Rally held in Getambe Grounds, Kandy on Monday.
Minister Mahinda Amaraweera while speaking at the rally, stressed the SLFP has secured to hold a ‘historic May Day rally’ since a large number of people gathered together as vowed earlier.
Minister Amaraweera went on to say with the policies of the present Government, the struggle Sri Lanka had to face following the ban imposed on fisheries exports to the EU market and ineligible to get GSP+ has diminished.
He said that the credibility of the country has strengthened due to the leadership of President Maithripala Sirisena.
