A discussion took place between the Opposition leader and leader of the Tamil National Alliance, R. Sampanthan, and unemployed degree-holders protesting in Batticaloa.
The discussion took place in the morning today (2), reports reveal.
The protesters had explained their problem to the Opposition leader at this occasion.
They stated that despite completing their university education in 2012, they had not yet received employment.
R. Sampanthan had stated that a solution would be provided during the course of the next two weeks.
Leader of the Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi party, MP Mavai Senathirajah and several other members of Parliament were also present at the occasion.
An estimate of 1600 unemployed degree-holders have been taking part in the protest for about two and a half months up-to-date.
