Island-wide strike to be held against the functioning of SAITM

An island-wide strike will be conducted on the 05 of May in light of the SAITM issue, Vice Secretary of the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA), Dr. Haritha Aluthge states.
Dr. Aluthge added that numerous trade unions belonging to the fields of health, education and transportation would also be participating in the strike.
He stated this this at a meeting held before the Homagama Base Hospital today (02).
A protest rally is currently ongoing in front of the Homagama Base Hospital opposing the decision to use the hospital as a centre for clinical assessments for SAITM medical students.
