Cop who fired shot outside UNP headquarters remanded

A cop, who was arrested after a shot was allegedly fired using his firearm at the UNP headquarters in Kotte, has been remanded until 15 May.
The suspect was remanded after being produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate on Tuesday (02) afternoon.
The Magistrate has also directed the prison authorities to obtain a medical report after producing the suspect before a psychiatrist, Ada Derana reporter said.
The initial investigations have suggested that the cop had intentionally fired the shot, police said.
