To ensure democracy, hold the election without delay - Wimal

In order to ensure democracy in Sri Lanka, the Government must hold the election without further delay, National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa said.
He made the observation during a press conference held in Colombo on Tuesday.
MP Dullas Alahapperuma said the Joint Opposition extends gratitude to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa who accepted the ‘challenge’ to hold the May Day rally at Galle Face Green. “We also had a doubt in the first place,” he added.
Meanwhile, MP Dinesh Gunawardena went on to express gratitude for the support they had received, both from the police and supporters during the rally.
