Wife sets husband on fire in Hambantota

A wife has murdered her husband in Sooriyawewa, Hambantota, by setting him on fire.
Police stated that the victim was initially admitted to the Sooriyawewa Hospital with severe burns, and later transferred to the Hambantota Base Hospital for further treatment where he died.
The deceased is said to be a 67-year-old resident of Sooriyawewa, Viharagala.
The victim, prior to his death, had confirmed with his cousin and doctor that the wife had in fact attempted to murder him by setting him ablaze.
The wife has been arrested in connection with this incident, and the Sooriyawewa Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
