One dead following shooting in Imaduwa

A person was shot and killed this morning while accompanying his child to a private tuition class, near the Dikkumbura junction in Imaduwa.
Police said that the shooting was carried out by two individuals who arrived on a motorcycle with their faces covered concealing their identity.
The victim, a 42-year-old resident of Dikkumbura, was rushed to the Karapitiya Hospital in critical condition, however he succumbed to injuries a short while later.
Preliminary inquiries have revealed that the shooting was the result of a long-standing dispute between two rival groups.
Several police teams have commenced investigations into the incident under the guidance of the SSP in charge of Galle division.
