UNP executive committee meets today

An executive committee meeting of the United National Party (UNP) is scheduled to be held today (08).
The meeting will be held at the party headquarters, ‘Srikotha Mandiraya’ from 05.00 pm onwards.
The meeting will be led by the leader of the UNP, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, and an invitation has been extended to all representatives of the board.
The provincial elections will reportedly be discussed extensively at this meeting.
Appointment of representatives to high-level posts of the party is also on the meeting’s agenda.
Media have also reported that the party will be making preparations to offer a post to Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka. However, party sources reveal that no such preparations have yet been made.
