Bodies of mother, child found in house in Ahungalla

In a tragic incident, a daughter has returned home after school to find that her mother and six-month-old brother were killed in Kosgoda, Ahungalla on Tuesday afternoon. According to police, an investigation has been commenced to identify the involved suspect(s).
The bodies of the 38-year-old woman and the child have been taken to the Ambalangoda hospital for post-mortem.
The daughter had alerted police of the incident with the help of neighbours after she saw that her mother and brother were unconscious and suffering from serious wounds, police added.
The deceased woman is a mother of three and has separated from her husband few years ago, it was reported.
The Kosgoda police are conducting further investigations.
