There have been no revolutionary changes at the North Central Provincial Council as mentioned by certain individuals, province’s Chief Minister Peshala Jayarathna says.
Jayarathna made the observation while speaking to reporters after the swearing-in ceremony of PC Minister Susil Gunarathna Tuesday.
“I maintain my policies as usual and carry out my work at the council,” Gunarathna added.
He also dismissed reports that 17 Councilors attempted to submit affidavits against him to the Governor of the North Central Province on May 15.
“Only six Councilors intended to hand over affidavits, some of them would extend their support to me in near future,” he predicted.
PC Minister Gunarathna was also among the Councilors who desired to submit affidavits, it was reported.
“There aren’t any Councilors at the NCP who represent the Joint Opposition. All of them contested under the UPFA ticket,” Jayarathna said.
